Do your children have an interest in cars, racing or anything with engines or wheels? If so, the College of Business' first-ever Summer Youth Motorsports Camp might be right up their alley!

The camp, the first of its kind to be designed with a multi-disciplinary approach to motorsports, is specifically for youth ages 9 to 14. It’s set to take place on Indiana State University’s campus July 15-21.

During the week-long residential camp, youth will not only be exposed to the sport of racing but to all aspects of the motorsports business, including sponsorships, marketing, technology – and all while having FUN!

Participants will get hands-on experience in the field and learn and have fun with members of Indiana s growing motorsports community, including championship National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) and Indy Racing League (IRL) teams! Field trips to races and tracks, driver visits and presentations, and big prize giveaways will add excitement throughout the week.

Youth will take part in events at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, including personalized tours of the complex and its facilities, bus tours of the track and a tour of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. Additional events will include trips to Panther Racing, Schumacher Racing and a sprint car and NHRA drag racing event, as well as guest speakers from the field of motorsports throughout the week.

Campers will meet with racing icons, including Pancho Carter and Johnny Parsons, Jr. Carter is a 17-time Indy 500 starter, former 500 pole winner, a triple-crown USAC National Champion and Hall of Fame inductee. Parsons is a 12-time Indy 500 starter, a Hall of Fame inductee and is currently active as a USAC Silver Crown driver.

Prize drawings will be conducted daily and will include racing memorabilia, personalized hero and thank you cards, and a grand prize of four tickets to this year’s Allstate 400 at the Brickyard, to name a few.
