ISU was one of hundreds of projects and thousands of volunteers across the country who honored Dr. King's legacy of working to solve social problems through serving others on Monday, Jan 15, 2007. Volunteers were matched with selected local non-profit agencies such as the 14th and Chestnut Community Center, Ryves Youth Center, Terre Haute Childrens Museum, and the Lighthouse Mission. The event is held in conjunction with his holiday to honor the dream. Dr. King knew what makes a great American - it doesnt matter if youre young or old or where you live. Doesnt matter how busy you are. All that matters is what you do for others.
This event is sponsored by the ISU Center for Public Service and Community Engagement and Sycamore Service Corps.
