Mark Henderson, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Lockton Companies, LLC, was ISUs first Leader in Action (LIA) Series presenter for Insurance and Risk Management, April 10 - 11. LIA events are sponsored by the College of Business insurance and risk management (IRM) program and the Gongaware Center.
During his stay on campus, Henderson will be making a presentation to students as part of a capstone insurance and risk management course. Following his classroom presentation, he participated in a reception, dinner and presentation with members of Gamma Iota Sigma (the ISU chapter of the national collegiate actuarial, insurance, and risk management society) in Hulman Memorial Student Union.
Lockton is the worlds largest privately held insurance broker. The company has 3,700 risk professionals in 18 offices in the United States, plus 31 international offices in 10 countries. Lockton's London office recently hosted a group of ISU students over spring break as part of the INS 449 class on surplus lines. Lockton also has shown great support and trust in the IRM program by hiring many ISU student interns and graduates for full-time employment. In fact, this is the first year that ISU has had as many as four students involved in summer internships with Lockton.
